Hopeless situation
There is a beautiful story about Hagar and Ishmael in the book of Genesis chapter 21. The bible says,
When the water in the skin was gone, she put the boy under one of the bushes. Then she went off and sat down about a bowshot away, for she thought, “I cannot watch the boy die.” And as she sat there, she began to sob.
God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.”
That’s incredible! Only God can change something that’s about to DIE into GREAT!
Hagar lost hope and came to a conclusion that her boy is going to die and so she turned her face away from her dying son. In this world there is no other powerful emotion than a mothers love. There is nothing sharper and stronger than maternal instincts. A mother is known for fighting for her young ones. But if the mother itself decides there is no other way and all hope is gone then the situation must have been hopeless indeed.
But we have a God we intervenes in our hopeless situation. We have a God who hears our cry. Our God understands our pain. Hagar didn’t even pray for help. But God saw her tears and heard her cry and intervened. That is the love of our Father. He cannot sit and watch his children crying in a hopeless situation. He intervenes!
When God intervenes he will not only restore the situation back to normality. He will make it GREAT! He cannot do anything lesser than that. He is not a normal or an average God. He is a GREAT God and when he intervenes the end result will be GREAT. When he intervenes he changes our dead situation into something GREAT.
May be your relationship is dying or your health is taking a nose dive or your debts are going out of control. Whatever is your situation, remember that our God can change it to something GREAT. So hang on and do not give up hope. God is still on the throne and he will intervene. God will change your dying situation into something GREAT.
