Students Take a Stand after School Labels Cross Necklace ‘Offensive’

A local pastor in Victoria, Australia, has commended students at Melbourne’s Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC) for challenging the school’s ban on cross necklaces, which were deemed “offensive” to some. The school, known for its strict dress code, faced backlash after asking students to remove the necklaces, allegedly favoring inclusivity over religious expression. Critics, including Pastor Murray Campbell and historian Stephen Chavura, praised the students for standing up against what they called “woke bullying,” urging them to wear their crosses to assert their faith in the Christian school environment.
