The Hamas War for the Total Destruction of Israel – What’s Next?

Does Hamas have a legitimate reason to attack Israel, and does Israel have a legitimate reason to respond in kind?
Regardless of where one stands on the Israeli/Hamas war, it is a terrible thing, there is seldom much of anything good about war – and yet, sometimes it is necessary.
On October 7th, Hamas (again) attacked Israel on multiple fronts, and killed not only military personnel, but civilians as well – add to that the kidnapping of around 200 people. Hamas has repeatedly shown their true colors in that they think nothing of kidnapping, and murdering non-combatants (As well as murdering already downed and injured Israeli soldiers) in order to achieve their goals. And yet, Israel is not supposed to defend itself in the face of these terrorist attacks, or is expected to hand down a light slap on the wrist.
Many in the world-at-large tend to disbelieve/ignore what Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS and others have done and are willing to do in order to achieve their stated goals – such as the utter extermination of Israel and the Jewish people. Instead, the leftist media, news junkies, social media addicts, and even entire countries have a laser focus on what Israel does, AFTER being brutally attacked.
Hamas and Hezbollah – the total destruction of Israel
Here are Hamas’s thoughts on Israel:
“On the destruction of Israel:
“Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”
Anti-Semitic incitement:
The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: ‘O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.” (Article 7)” Source
I think the above statements are pretty clear as to exactly what Hamas believes.
In 2017, Hamas stated a less radical ideology – they claimed to reject the “persecution of any human being or the undermining of his or her rights on nationalist, religious or sectarian grounds.” Source
The problem with this “new” ideology is that it directly contradicts the statements of their very own holy book, the Koran:
“Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: ‘O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him.” Remember too that this statement is contained within Hamas’ original charter (as stated above).
What about Hamas accepting any responsibility for the issues between Israel and Hamas? They (Hamas) do not – accept ANY responsibility that is.
“And what of the thousands of Palestinians killed, the flattened apartment blocks, the crumbling infrastructure, the suffocating travel restrictions, the countless dreams deferred in Gaza, a 40-kilometer (25-mile) coastal strip sandwiched between Israel and Egypt?
Hamas blamed Israel, as did many Palestinians. The Hamas government has seen only sporadic protests over the years and has quickly and violently suppressed them.” Source
So if one fundamentally disagrees with Hamas, you are essentially toast, sounds like a totalitarian government to me.
Here are Hezbollah’s thoughts on Israel:
“And finally, it opposed any attempts to negotiate with Israel, seeking the country’s withdrawal from Lebanon as the first step toward ‘its final obliteration from existence and the liberation of venerable Jerusalem from the talons of occupation.’” Source
Israel has been trading fire with Hezbollah on top of their fight with Hamas, and Hezbollah has far more firepower etc. than Hamas has.
If the Iranian backed Hezbollah formally enters the Israeli/Hamas conflict (Hamas has stated they will if Israel “goes to far”), this will be a much larger regional conflict, and a much bloodier war than it is now.
It seems to this writer that there is a “preference” if you will to blatantly ignore or drastically downplay the actions of Hamas (And other groups and/or state actors etc. when the atrocities are committed against Israel) in this particular “war.” Israel therefore decided to show a group of journalists footage of some of the actions undertaken by Hamas members in Israel during their “surprise” attack, to wit:
Two people traveling on a road in Israel were shot to death, more like executed. A man and his two sons were running to a shelter and a grenade was thrown at them, the father was killed.
“The material included the killing of children and decapitation of some victims.
In another scene Hamas attackers entered a house and spoke to a girl hiding under a table. ‘After some talking back and forth they shoot and kill her,’ tweeted Jotam Confino, one of the correspondents at the screening. ‘Hard to say how old she is but looks like 7-9 years old.’
Other sequences showed a militant with an agricultural tool hacking at the head of a man lying on the ground, gunmen killing wounded female Israeli soldiers and a jubilant Hamas fighter calling his family: ‘I killed 10 Jews with my own hands. I’m using the dead Jewish woman’s phone to call you now.’
Still images showed a decapitated soldier, charred human remains, including those of young children, and several Islamic State flags, the Times of Israel reported.” Source
A brief history review
Was there ever a “nation” of Palestine, or a true Palestinian people? The short answer is no. Hamas and others claim that there was, but claims non-withstanding, there are no facts to back these claims.
Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich was recently heavily criticized for stating these very truths.
“I ask you who was the first Palestinian King, what [unique] language do they have, was there ever a Palestinian coin. Is there a Palestinian history or culture? There isn’t. There is no such thing as a Palestinian nation.” Source
So if there was no nation of Palestine, then where did the term “Palestine” originate from? You may be surprised to learn that the name Palestine dates back to the Roman Empire. The Romans after having conquered the ancient state of Israel began referring to the land of Israel as “Palestine,” and this name (some also say the land was named by the biblical Philistines) more or less stuck until 1948. A complete history of the area can be viewed here. This a quote from the linked resource:
“Actually, in this piece of land there has been everything, EXCEPT A PALESTINIAN STATE.”
The area (Israel) was ruled by the Ottoman Empire from the early 1500s to the early 1900s when Britain captured the area from them in World War I and took it over. Again, the area was commonly referred to as “Palestine,” and the so-called press even referred to the Jewish people living there at that time as “Palestinians” (not the Arab people). The term “Palestine” never once appears in the Koran either, but a similar term with the same meaning appears in the Christian Old Testament quite a few times.
The land of Israel was originally named Canaan and was given to the Israelites by God. The original land holding was far larger than today’s Israel.
Looking at the above map, one can see that the original Israel was far larger, in fact containing parts of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, and all of Jordan.
What is the significance of all of this? If anyone has a “claim” to the disputed lands, it is Israel, not the “Palestinians,” and not the Arab peoples either. Israel has a historical claim to these lands, the land of Israel is the ONLY land in the world God Himself claimed and specifically gave to the Jewish people (His people). The fact that most of the people of today’s Israel don’t believe in Jesus has little to do with it; the land still belongs to the nation of Israel. Keep in mind as well that the faith of those who believe in Jesus (God) far predates the faith of those who believe in Islam.
The “Palestinian” people
There were many people living in the British Mandate referred to as Palestine – Arabs, Jews, and others called this area home. When the mandate was slated to come to an end (May of 1948), David Ben-Gurion declared the Declaration of the Establishment of the State of Israel. Literally hours later, FIVE Arab nations invaded the newly formed Israel. This caused roughly 750,000 Palestinian Arabs to flee the area – and these people ultimately became the Palestinian refugees – refugees that no other Arab nation wanted to have anything to do with. The exception to this being Jordan, the one nation that granted citizenship to some of the refugees.
Refugees went to various places including the Gaza Strip, which was at that time run by Egypt, known for mistreating the Arab refugees.
In today’s world oddly enough, or maybe not so odd at all – the surrounding Arab nations want nothing to do with the so-called Palestinian people – not in my back yard seems to be the unsaid comment. There are many reasons stated for this, but I believe the real reason is a serious lack of trust, who would want these people living next-door so-to-speak? How many are innocent civilians, and how many are card-carrying members or die-hard supporters of Hamas and Hezbollah?
The Jewish people
Another problem that originated from this time period is the problem of Jewish refugees. Whereas half of the world was up in arms over the Arab refugee problem, there was a glaring silence concerning the Jewish refugees.
“A Jewish refugee problem was also created with the establishment of the State of Israel. From 1948-1951 as many as 800,000 Jews were expelled from their native Arab and Muslim nations or forced to flee as a result of state-sponsored anti-Zionist violence.” Source
Palestine and Israel side-by-side
The “Palestinian” people actually DID already have a chance at having their own nation, and all of the Arab leaders of nations etc. rejected this plan – Resolution 181. Surprisingly, the Jewish people reluctantly agreed to it, and the Arab people fully boycotted it. Why did the Arab peoples effectively say “no way” to this plan? Because the Arabs viewed the land in question as belonging to them, ALL of it, and they still do. The Arab people would have nothing to do with the Jewish people being allowed to “own” any of “their” land. Hence the brutal fighting over Jerusalem.
The Hamas way
So how does Hamas conduct itself? Hamas has a place in the governance of the Gaza Strip; so the people of the place that Hamas calls home would be important to them right? WRONG.
Hamas has no care for the people –

That’s pretty cold. Hamas starts another war with Israel, and the attitude is, “well, the people aren’t our problem.” You know, as they say in the movies, “acceptable collateral damage” right? Accept this isn’t a movie, and many people are being killed and murdered.
Hamas is well known for hiding behind civilians. If you want to know where Hamas stores its military supplies etc., it’s where the people are. Because if one fights from, shoots rockets from, and stores military equipment as well as making their headquarters in non military areas – Israel will be precluded from attacking those areas, so the thinking goes. And then if Israel does attack one of these areas, Hamas cries foul to the press, and the leftist press greedily licks it up and gleefully reports on what a bunch of murdering shockingly fiendish people Israel is.
There are miles and miles of tunnels under Gaza. It is said that the main Hamas base is located directly under the main Gaza hospital – safe and shielded from attack while Hamas continues to attack Israel, including firing 1000s of rockets into Israel with no regard for any civilian areas whatsoever.

As Israel’s invasion of Gaza looms, the Israel Defense Forces has outlined the need to destroy Hamas’ 300-mile-long tunnel network, which allegedly runs beneath several medical facilities including Al Shifa and connects to the terrorists’ key command center there.
IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari named Al Shifa as the base of several underground hubs collectively used by Hamas’ leadership.” Source
Hamas meanwhile states that they will continue to attack Israel until the job is done, and just what IS that job? The complete and total annihilation of Israel.

A peaceful side-by-side two state solution
All of the above is why the peaceful co-existence of an Arab nation and a Jewish nation (Israel) close together will never work. Israel might be able to work with this (it is after all the Israelis who have given up land, and granted medical treatment to their own enemies), but the Arab nations never will. There is simply far too much hostility towards the Jewish people.
Syria is an avowed enemy of Israel, and yet, Israel granted medical treatment (some months long) to many Syrians. Would Syria do the same for Israel? Not hardly.

Again, would any of the leadership of Hamas do likewise for an Israeli? Fat chance. Hamas “treatment” options for Israeli’s are simple, death in any way that they can deliver it.
Iran, Syria, Hamas, and Hezbollah among others are diametrically opposed to the very existence of Israel. Even if a two state solution was agreed to, and the “Palestinians” then possessed their own nation, the attacks on Israel would never stop. This “new” Arab nation would merely be a springboard to completely dominating the entire region, and the eventual extinguishment of the Jewish people and their homeland. This is after all let us remember, the stated goal of Iran, Syria, Hamas, and Hezbollah.
Peace between the Arab world and Israel
Peace between the nation of Israel and the Arab world at large is never going to happen, there is simply far too much hostility and hatred. Sure some Arab nations will agree to peace, but not all of them, and certainly not Hamas and Hezbollah’s largest backer – Iran.
There have been cease-fires negotiated many times before, they never last – Hamas always attacks again. A cease-fire simply allows Hamas additional time to import more rockets and other weapons, sign on more men and train them etc.
Will the attacks on Israel ever cease? No, they will not, Hamas and others will continue to attack Israel in any way that they can, remember, Hamas and many others have openly stated that their ultimate goal is the complete and utter destruction of Israel, wiping them off the map.
Until –
There will come a time when a peace deal WILL be brokered between all parties that will hold, for a time – and then the “deal” will be shattered by the one who negotiates it. This will be The Great Tribulation.
God’s warning against harming His people
Maybe of greater importance is the fact that all the nations of the Earth have been specifically warned about evil intentions and acts against Israel (the Jewish people).
10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. Psalm 2:10–12
1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

There are many of course that pay these clear warnings no mind whatsoever, scoffing in utter disbelief – to their own condemnation and fall from any grace offered by God. There is a price to be paid for evil actions against God’s chosen people, just as there are blessings to be had in treating the Jewish well – the USA is a prime example of this.

When Rome killed Paul and many others, and destroyed Jerusalem under Titus, Rome soon fell. Spain was reduced to a fifth-rate nation after the Inquisition against the Jews; Poland fell after the pogroms; Hitler’s Germany went down after its orgies of anti-Semitism; Britain lost her empire when she broke her faith with Israel.’ (Barnhouse)” Source
Don’t wait
I don’t think that this (True Middle East peace, the Great Tribulation and the Second Coming of Christ to Earth) is in the distant future; I believe this will happen soon, quite possibly within the lifetime of many living today. Don’t wait for another day, stop putting it off for whatever reason you give yourself and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior today – today is the day of salvation!
