Don’t get stuck in a “bone-dry” place

According to WFP (World food programme)

Some 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That’s about one in nine people on earth.

3.1 million children  under five  die each year because of poor nutrition

Before you go to bed tonight there will be

  • more than 100,000 abortions carried out just today
  • more than 21,000 people will die of cancer
  • more than 2500 suicides
  • more than 3000 road traffic accidents
  • around 6,500 deaths caused by alcohol
  • more than 4600 water related diseases

According to ONS

  • There were 13 divorces an hour in England and Wales in 2012
  • One in seven divorces were granted as a result of adultery
  • It is expected that 42% of marriages will end in divorce

God said to Moses….

“I have heard them crying out.. I am concerned about their sufferings.. SO NOW GO.”

But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

Moses had a big question: “Who am I ?”

We all have the same question that Moses had: “Who am I?“

If Moses were to live in 21st century, the world would have “labelled” Moses as a murderer, a runaway from Egypt, a nomad. That’s how the world labels us sometimes…. single mother, cancer patient, unemployed, jobless, living on benefits, asylum seeker, divorcee, widow, depression patient and so on.

We go through a crisis in life and as a result the crisis labels us. The world is very good in labelling people and putting a false “identity”.  In the end we become a victim of that crisis and start living all our life with that label.

Perhaps Moses would have thought, “Who am I that I should GO and do this work for God…I am a murderer, I am a runaway from Egypt, I am a nomad,  I can’t be good to people… I am not likeable… I am in a crisis… I AM STUCK IN LIFE… WHO AM I to GO for this mission?”

But when Moses was a child, God protected him supernaturally from a “mass genocide” because he was chosen by God to rescue Israelites from the hands of Egypt. Moses was part of God’s big picture from birth. God chose Moses for greatness at his birth! Whatever happened after that, the crisis he went through, the label he got from that crisis will not change the fact he was chosen by God. It won’t change the fact he was part of God’s big picture.

May be you are stuck in a crisis like Moses and you are thinking you are going to die in the crisis. But God is saying, “NO….you have to GO and be part of my big picture!!! I marked you for greatness at your birth!! Don’t believe the identity the world gave you… the crisis gave you.. you are still part of my big picture.”

So DON’T GET STUCK IN LIFE. Don’t die with your crisis. Go and be part of God’s big picture.

Terah — The father of Abram, started to Cannan even before God called Abram to go to Cannan. He had good intentions and a right plan for his family but never had the call of God. But the problem was, the bible says,

“When they came to Haran he settled there. He lived 205 years and died in Haran.”

Terah never reached Canaan! He settled and died in Haran. Do you know what Haran means?  “Bone –  dry place.”

God doesn’t want you to settle and die in a “bone-dry” place. God doesn’t want you to die in the crisis you are facing. God wants you to GO and be part of his big picture. So now go!
