ABC’s American Idol crowned a new champion Sunday night, but for many viewers, the highlight aired earlier in the show, when Christian artist CeCe Winans joined contestant Roman Collins for a powerful rendition of Goodness of God.
Butker, a three-time Super Bowl champion, has been labeled a bigot and a sexist within mainstream media and social media for a May 11 commencement address at Benedictine College in which he criticized "people pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America" and encouraged graduates to embrace the roles God had given them.
The actor and comedian was baptized in April, and recently took his first communion. In a video released May 17, he discussed how our society interacts with spiritual matters.
According to the Movement Advancement Project, at least 25 states have enacted laws and regulations banning transgender women and girls from competing in female sports.
