Florida Education Department ‘Deeply Troubled’ by Prayer Ban
The Florida Education Department voiced its concern over the Florida School Athletic Association’s decision to deny students the right to pray over a loudspeaker at a high school football game. Commissioner of Education Richard Corcoran sent a letter to the FHSAA stating that the decision was “overboard” and restricted students’ constitutional right to private religious expression.
